Wanda on the moon!
Following a brief interruption by Ofsted the children and staff at Wingfield have resumed their focus on this term’s whole school project: science learning inspired by a visit to the Peter Harrison Planetarium in Greenwich Park. During the visit children from all year groups took a tour of the Universe and experienced the wonders of the night sky with expert commentary from real astronomers. Olivia in Year 4 commented that “we learned about the patterns stars make in the sky, known as constellations.” In school children have conducted investigations, written about space travel, constructed 3D models of the planets and even used a green screen to send our school dog, Wanda, to the moon! Children and staff are now publishing their learning from across the curriculum ready for a whole school display focused on what has been an incredible whole school project.
