On Thursday 8th March Wingfield were visited by the Department for Education. The DfE are currently engaged in research focused on digital technology in education and the impact on teacher workload. Led by William Cutler, Head of EdTech Policy at the DfE, the research team toured the school and observed teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Further, we presented to the research team our vision for digital technology in education and our innovative approach to assessment across the curriculum. The research team spoke at length with teachers and enjoyed a Q&A session with the senior leadership team.
Sofia Costa, Education Technology Policy Advisor at the DfE, commented:
‘Thank you so much for providing us with such a delightful morning last week. It was wonderful to see the great work of the school, and the enthusiasm from both staff and students. We learnt a great deal!’
William Cutler, Head of EdTech Policy at the DfE, commented:
‘It was a really interesting visit for us, and truly impressive to hear how you have trialled and then deployed technology. I just now wish we could copy and paste the enthusiasm, openness, and pragmatism we saw to every other school.’
