Deansfield School Focus

Deansfield has had very busy week!  Our Chamber Choir was down to the final of the choir of the year competition.  This was held on Monday at the Royal Festival Hall.  Not only did the children get to compete against the UK’s top 24 choirs but they had the opportunity to perform to all of their families in the evening.

Horn Park School Focus

At Horn Park, we are passionate about books and inspiring a love of reading. This week we have had a week-long programme of festivities in honour of World Book Day. On Monday we welcomed children’s author Chris Callaghan, who met the whole school and discussed his book, ‘The Great Chocoplot’ and his life as an author.

Alderwood School Focus

At Alderwood we have been using our local offer to enhance the learning experience our pupils receive here through various trips such as year 2 visiting the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. This brought to life the pupils’ learning as they have been looking at the great explorer ‘Scott of the Antarctica’ within their History unit of learning.

Wingfield School Focus

Wanda on the moon!

Following a brief interruption by Ofsted the children and staff at Wingfield have resumed their focus on this term’s whole school project: science learning inspired by a visit to the Peter Harrison Planetarium in Greenwich Park.  During the visit children from all year groups took a tour of the Universe and experienced the wonders of the night sky with expert commentary from real astronomers.

New Compass Trustee

We are delighted to announce that Aleksandra (Alex) Wasik-Hyde, has been appointed to the Compass Board of Trustees. Alex works for the Department for Education, and her team deals with financial viability and governance, providing advice on compliance for academies based in North West London and the South-Central area.
