The Compass Council are nominated members from all Compass schools to provide a platform in decision making across the Trust. The Council have spent this year promoting the “11 before 11” across the primary schools and “16 before 16” through our secondary setting. These are experiences, including a residential stay; learning a language and giving back to the community, that the Council believe all Compass children should receive. Our schools have been working hard to fulfil these experiences for example Deansfield have been raising money to support the Australian crisis through cake sales and sponsored runs and Alderwood’s children have had basic first aid training. Last week, the Compass Council met in the Council Chambers in Woolwich to discuss each school’s progress. During their meeting, they met with the Mayor of Greenwich and were able to find out about democratic processes as well as asking him questions about his career.
