Deansfield has had very busy week! Our Chamber Choir was down to the final of the choir of the year competition. This was held on Monday at the Royal Festival Hall. Not only did the children get to compete against the UK’s top 24 choirs but they had the opportunity to perform to all of their families in the evening.
At Horn Park, we are passionate about books and inspiring a love of reading. This week we have had a week-long programme of festivities in honour of World Book Day. On Monday we welcomed children’s author Chris Callaghan, who met the whole school and discussed his book, ‘The Great Chocoplot’ and his life as an author.
Last week a maths problem was delivered to each year group in every school for our children to solve. The problems were based on maths in real life and needed practical solutions.
Both the Spring term and the start of the Summer term at Horn Park have been very busy, and the fantastic enrichment opportunities on offer and rich learning experiences within the curriculum have continued to engage children.
Wingfield Primary School marked the official opening of their new school building on Friday 23rd March, with a special concert performed by pupils from across all year groups.
