We welcomed our new NQTs to Willow Dene yesterday for the start of their induction programme. It was an opportunity for NQTs to meet their peers who will be working across our schools, and to gain an insight into our approach to teaching and learning.
The Summer term is proving to be another busy term for us here at Willow Dene! With so much going on it was hard to choose what to share! Have a read below to find out what the second half of the Summer term has in store for us and what we have already managed to squeeze into this busy final term!
What a term it’s been for the Creative & Performing Arts at Halstow! This year’s Arts Festival theme – ‘Express Yourself’ – provided children with the chance to get creative and express their ideas, feelings and imaginations: this culminated in the most exciting, vibrant, imaginative exhibition yet!
The Summer term has been incredibly busy at South Rise. There has been a particular focus on outdoor learning with two school journeys over the last few weeks and a range of other trips and activities.
Yesterday, school leaders, trustees and governors from across four Greenwich multi-academy trusts (Compass, Inspire, Endeavour and Maritime,) came together to reflect on the power of partnership and how schools can work together to ensure that they are providing the best outcomes for the young people and communities that they serve.
Both the Spring term and the start of the Summer term at Horn Park have been very busy, and the fantastic enrichment opportunities on offer and rich learning experiences within the curriculum have continued to engage children.
We are truly delighted to announce that Alderwood Primary School has been awarded the national Early Years Quality Mark.
Art and Design – Whole-School Values Project
We have been working on a whole-school project, inspired by our school values, which gave children from reception to year 6 the opportunity to explore the values (kindness, honesty, trust, determination, resilience, respect, equality, freedom, excellence, confidence, courage and responsibility) in a creative, artistic way.
It’s the start of the Summer Term – the school year seems to be racing by! So it is good time to reflect on some of the achievements of the Spring Term at Deansfield.
