When we were on our visit at the education centre, we encountered some of the Compass school councillors, teachers and staff. We discussed the matter of what we could do to improve the experience of a child who attends one of our partnership schools. We learnt about the history of Westminster Abbey. We also considered what we have called the ‘11 before 11’. Eleven things we should do before going into our next years of school experience.
We held the first meeting of our new Parent Forum on Wednesday at Deansfield. Each of the schools in our Trust will have up to two parent representatives on the Forum. As well as having parents on our local governing bodies, we have established this Forum as a mechanism to gain feedback at a Trust…
Compass had the pleasure of welcoming a fantastic group of trainee teachers to our recruitment open day on 11th December. The students learnt about the vision and ethos of both our Trust and schools, heard some personal experiences from our staff, and were given some top tips on writing applications and excelling at interview.
On Thursday, Sophie Powell, one of our Executive Headteachers, hosted a twilight session at Wingfield Primary School, for Fellows who are on an SSAT Leadership Legacy Programme. As part of this, Sophie presented her leadership journey, focusing on the key educational principles that have determined her career.
Compass enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Goldsmith’s Recruitment Fair last week where we enjoyed meeting with students and exploring possible opportunities on our partnership of schools. We are proud to announce that two more Willow Dene teachers have completed their MA degrees in Leadership and Innovation. Lisa Parascandolo and Joshua Garrett Smith have now passed the two-year course with distinction.
On Thursday 15th November, Horn Park Primary school hosted the first Compass Sporting event of the year. 96 children from across the Compass Partnership met at Horn Park to compete in a demanding cross country race.
Wingfield Primary School were delighted to host the Challenge Partners Lead Reviewer training on Wednesday 7th November. It was a really informative day and we enjoyed hosting colleagues from a variety of schools in the area. The first Compass Partnership School Council meeting was held at Willow Dene School on Thursday 4th October. Two members from each school in the partnership attended this important meeting (apart from Wingfield School, who were, unfortunately, unable to attend).
